Changelog

What's new in Revision

Features and fixes as they ship, newest first.

  1. Quick add

Drop images on the Projects or Clients page to add boards without opening a project first. Pick an existing project or name a new one, and Revision adds the boards in file order.

    Also new

    • Uploads start as soon as you drop, so the boards are ready by the time you've picked a project.
    • On a client's page, Quick add starts a new project for that client and lists only their projects.
    • Files that aren't PNG, JPEG or WebP are listed as skipped, so you can see what was left out.
    • When it's done, each file shows whether it was added or replaced a board, and Open project takes you straight there.
    • A new pin logo on the sign-in page, in the sidebar and in your browser tab.
  2. Instant boards, draggable pins and a grid view

Flicking through a project now feels instant. The next board is decoded before it's shown, so your client never sees a blank frame. Drag a pin you placed to a better spot, or press G for every board at once, grouped by section with open comment counts.

    Also new

    • Posting, replying and resolving happen the moment you click. If one fails, your text comes back so nothing is lost.
    • A comments sidebar lists every open thread across the project, grouped by board. Filter to the current board, show resolved threads, or jump straight to a pin.
    • You get an email when a client comments or replies.
    • Password-protect a project's link, turn comments off, or set a maximum board width in Settings.
    • Organise projects by client. Each client has a page with their projects, and Projects has search, filters and a list view.
    • Group boards into sections, like Flows or Marketing. Drag boards within or between sections and they slide into place.
    • Pixel density is detected on upload from @2x file names, image metadata or common retina widths, so boards show at their true size. You can change it for any board.
    • Projects now have Boards, History and Settings tabs. History lists every upload and change by day.

    Fixes

    • A board's background now matches the colour around its edges, not just its top-left corner.
    • Dragging a board to reorder it no longer opens it.
    • Comment popovers fit on a phone screen.
    • If you're already signed in, the sign-in page sends you straight on.
  3. Upload boards, send one link

The first version of Revision. Upload hi-res boards to a project, then send your client one link. They move through the boards left and right and pin comments right on the design.

    In this version

    • Drag PNG, JPEG or WebP boards into a project, then drag them into order.
    • Upload a board with the same file name to replace it where it sits.
    • Long boards load in tiles, so tall pages stay sharp, even on a phone.
    • Clients move between boards with the arrow buttons or the ← and → keys.
    • Pin a comment to any spot on a board. Reply in the thread and resolve it when it's sorted.
    • Clients don't need an account to view. They sign in with Google only to comment.
